After residency, Dr. Sharp became a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar at the University of Michigan earning a master’s degree in Health and Health Care Research. Dr. Sharp came to KP in 2013 to become an embedded researcher in a learning health system; he works to apply science in a real-world way that improves care delivery and health, and he is the current Director of the Care Improvement Research Team. His work has resulted in better antibiotic stewardship, improved stroke care, and improved care delivery for patients with head trauma and acute chest pain. He values the impact of social circumstances on the health of individuals and has been involved in projects to understand ways that health systems can better understand and address the social risks of patients.
Adam Sharp brings a rich medical background and data science perspective to Galvan. He envisions a future where everyone owns and controls their health data, and can receive unbiased health information to make smarter medical decisions.

Jeff’s innate ability to stabilize and then optimize the operations of critical care facilities, often under difficult time and budgetary constraints, has earned him a stellar reputation as a patient-focused leader and innovator. Jeff is passionate about correcting the inefficiencies in healthcare delivery by shifting the focus back to patient well-being.

Dr. Bearss has been involved in the discovery of 15 compounds that have transitioned to INDs and moved forward in clinical development. He has been a co-founder of 5 biotech companies and has been an active scientific advisor to several others. Dr. Bearss served as Chief Scientific Officer at Montigen Pharmaceuticals and SuperGen Inc. overseeing early drug discovery and development. He was the founding Co-Director of the Center for Investigational Therapeutics at the Huntsman Cancer Institute as well as an Associate Professor in the Department of Oncological Sciences at the University of Utah and Associate Professor of Physiology & Developmental Biology at Brigham Young University. Dr. Bearss was the founder and CEO of Tolero Pharmaceuticals which he led through its acquisition by Sumitomo DaiNippon Pharma in 2017. He stayed on after the acquisition as CEO of Tolero and as Global head of Research and CSO of SDP Oncology.
He is also serving as the Senior Managing Director, UTAH Therapeutics Accelerator at the University of Utah which is focused on helping new therapeutic technologies discovered at the University of Utah transition to clinical development. Dr. Bearss has published more than 80 manuscripts and book chapters, has over 50 patents issued or pending and has won several awards for his scientific achievements.
In 1986 Ms. Roberts took the assignment to manage human resources at various operational centers for Sears’ Credit fledgling consumer credit company, Discover Card. Shortly thereafter, Ms Roberts assumed control of the company’s 24-hour customer service inbound call center, card member security, physical security, and operations budget as the Director of Operations.
By 1997, Ms. Roberts was appointed Vice President and General Manager of Salt Lake City operations, and in that capacity managed new accounts, customer service, product marketing and loan activity. Three years later Ms. Roberts was appointed President and Chief Operations Officer of Discover Bank and remained in that position until her retirement from the Company in 2006.
For over 34 years, Ms. Roberts has, through her work ethic, determination, and aptitude for creating customer-centric business processes, played in instrumental part in the transformation of the financial services industry and now applies those to skills to the emerging digital currency market.
Travis also brings blockchain experience and expertise to Galvan. He has started and ran his own Bitcoin mining operation, invested in and advised multiple crypto startups, and has built custom software solutions in blockchain technology.
Brian brings Galvan many skills including technical recruiting, user experience design, project management, agile development, and data integrations. He is excited to help Galvan grow and expand its development team and engineering capability.
Prior to her medical experience, Casey worked in tourism with Holland America and Princess cruise lines for 8 years in Alaska, where she managed logistics for the shoreside operations of 21 ships each week. In her spare time Casey loves to play volleyball, paddle board, travel, and anything to do with her dog Moose.
